I reviewed mEgo on Mashable today. I'd like you to read the review and let me know what you think. I like mEgo and also gave it a bit of a hard time. I compared some of it's features to the chaos of MySpace.
But I feel like I gave it constructive criticism. I want the folks at mEgo to think about it and work hard at improving so that they can win me over. The reason Retaggr won me so easily and did not get such a hard time is because it hasn't crossed any lines yet. Everything is open for improvement. Whereas, I can see that MeGo could go the wrong way and push away certain audiences... like folks older than 25.
What I think is that I want Retaggr and mEgo to meet somewhere in the middle. More interactive/dynamic features on Retaggr, less graphics/animation/glitter/sensory overload on mEgo.
This is where it's going though. This is where it's going...
(P.S. Funny that my mEgo is like the Mashable blue/pink super woman with a Mashable background, right? God, I feel like I'm 12 again and designing Barbies online).

Hy , nice review of mEgo . I'm sure we'll pay attention to your review , criticism must be always taken as a start for improving things.
You made me curios with retaggr and they gained a new user :))
Cheers
Hi Alana,
It's Ariel - one of the founders of mEgo and I really appreciate your review. It was thoughtful. We certainly don't want to go the way of visual overload, and an objective reminder of you to focus the product on the utility is cool.
The inspiration of mEgo is the utility, not the bling, although we care greatly that people can control and individualize their look good as they represent themselves online. We have taken great efforts behind the scenes so that mEgo can ORGANIZE your content- making it easier to navigate and grow. Over the long run I think it will be more obvious.
We will be refining and adding to the app a lot in the coming months. We are doing a un-animated version for the iphone. If you want to see me in a rather dorky manner talk about it, see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPrT94gOLjM
Thank you.
Ariel
