Internet Evolution 1969 - 2007
If you are doing the same thing today that you were doing in 1995, then something is really wrong.
There's no way you can look at these pictures and think things won't change.
And don't think I am speaking solely to the older generation. Because, shit, I'm even scared.
What will the picture look like in the next 8-10 years?

Makes me wonder what the heck is going on in most of Texas. That Southwestern bit seems out of it!
When is the southwest ever with it?
- Texas? Only steers and queers come from Texas.
- Not that there's anything wrong with that!
I lived in TX for 5 years.
A bunch of fence jumping is whats going on
great post
okay just to put this out there, the southwest is arizona new mexico nevada and arguably utah, and not texas. please do not associate us
He clearly meant the southwest part of Texas, not the southwest in general.
I don't think that the queers comment was meant to exclude those outside of Texas. That was clearly inappropriate.
can anyone tell me why white girls like our hostess here push their lips together and out when posing for a photo. You can't fall backwards anymore without seeing this.
Usually this is accompanied by a gang sign - inexplicably.
Is anyone here a Sociologist?? heh heh
completely off topic, but I just had to tell you that you are absolutely gorgeous. I hope someday I settle down with a woman as beautiful as you......
No internet outside of your precious United States?
Well, without my precious United States, there would be no Internet.
And, even if you had Internet, you'd be typing in German anyway if not for our Grandfathers.
On both counts, you're welcome.
i think you need to learn you'r history mate. we were doing just fine before the yanks joined in.
no wonder 8 tenths of the world FLUCKCLUCKIN HATE YOU
The internet is not an American 'invention'.
''You'd be typing in German blah blah blah''. This view of history must be hammered into Americans from an early age.
WOW, it's crazy to think how much the internet has advanced since it was created...especially in the last several years!
In 1994 I was surfing the Net with Slipknot. Nothing has changed except for stupid blogs like this.
Good day!
It is very informative and has a very good quality in it.
I like it...

Thank you very much for your time.
I love how every discussion on the internet eventually devolves into a pissing contest. This image represents the internet's evolution in the United States. If you want one of France or the UK then go make one, "Mate."
Well yay, one more patronising dumb American. Hope your country falls apart, lots of love from the rest of the world.
I have issues with the accuracy of this comparison. In 1995, for example, there is only the T3 backbone, in other words freaking huge connections used by the government or large companies. On the other hand, in the 2007 picture it just says "internet map." So in the 1995 map, what happened to all those people using the ever so amazing dial-up? Even if it isn't fast, internet is internet. Try getting maps that represent a total number of things, not just one part.
west texas and southwestern new mexico have some of the best internet providers available in the united states. whatever that black spot is there in the odessa/midland area especially is totally flawed and needs correct research. adding a bunch of sunburst colors to a map and saying it's a "map of the internets" is ridiculous. and to anyone hoping the us falls apart (ahem) every country on this planet depends on the US for a majority of their economic being.
I love noticable decrease in backbone lines where AT&T resides. fuck att
nice images about evolution of internet.

in response to the comment about other countries relying on the US for their economy's, i think your a bit wrong there, your economy is fucked now and is dragging down the rest of us, also, the internet was invented by Tim Berners-lee who is from ENGLAND.
Tim Berners-Lee did NOT invent the Internet, nor did Al Gore. It was a military/research development.
Tim Berners-Lee came up with the concept of the World Wide Web after developing a way to link documents together through hyperlinks.
did anybody ever think about the age of the people posting here and how that would make a difference. say like if they were a smart 12 years old. think about it.
wasn't the integrated circuit invented in Texas by a company called Texas Instruments??? haha basically computers and electronics as a whole owe their lives to texas hahaha
Y'all, seriously... I don't know who stumbled this page... but now it's getting all sorts of traffic -- which, don't get me wrong, is great -- but there's too many anonymous comments coming in about random things that nobody is reading but me. There really isn't much to this blog post except me showing some pictures I found on a website. I think you should dispute your arguments elsewhere. That way I won't keep getting e-mails with comments of who invented the internet or what country is better than the other... THANKS! :)
BTW sorry if this comment reads the wrong way, I just don't like anonymous commenting. I am really against it and this is, after all, MY blog. hah.
Okeydokes, have a phenomenal day!
I like the images. To the person talking about the T3 line, note that the text is in yellow, and only some of the lines are yellow. However, I must agree that the last image is a little out of context, it's one of those "does not match the others" situations. Still cool though. Oh, and I also agree with Alana, that pissing contests should be brought to a forum, or a blog post about who's country is better, and should only be for educated people. :)
the map looks like an apple product... scary.
In ten years: dark.
We need oil to run such vast infrastructures.
