A NonSociety Saturday Night

Last night I went to the office of the girls from NonSociety.com - Julia Allison, Mary Rambin and Meghan Asha - because they were having a small party and then going to see a concert (EchoSuite).

(By the way, I spent a good amount of time straightening my hair only to walk into a downpour as I stepped out of my apartment building. I was pissed.)

Here's me looking retarded in the background:

And this is the picture of them I took right before I was snapped in that shot:

Mary looked stunning. Great makeup. I need to ask her how she does her eyes:

I am always amazed at how short Julia is in real life (not in a bad way) but I just always expected her to be taller:

Too bad I didn't take a picture of myself last night. I looked really cute (not retarded). Damn.

Random: I think I could get used to drinking P.I.N.K. vodka with Fuze... tastes great and the "slenderize" Fuze is only 5 calories!! Plus, the vodka is "guarana-infused." Not sure what that means, but sounds totally awesome.

By the way, apparently Noelle Hancock was at this party and her blog "Just Putting It Out There" is supposed to be really funny. I had never heard of her, but now I am going to see what all the fuss is about. :)

OH, and do you read GuestOfAGuest? It's this blog about "NYC's Hottest People, Parties, and Nightlife"... well there was a man who was taking photographs for them and he kept telling people to pose. He was the most awkward-looking man I had ever seen. Tall, about 45 years old, white hair, wearing a suit with a boutonniere and everything -- and his face was BEET RED, sweating profusely. I had no idea who he was or what he was doing at this party except that he wanted me to "now do a silly pose."

Anyway, I had an amazing time. Mostly because I hung out with the two coolest people in New York... Georgina and Berry. Georgina is from Australia and Berry is from South Africa which means they use words like "tossa"... and thus making conversation infinitely more entertaining.

On the way from the party to the concert we shared a cab and they taught me how to be cool. I have now acquired the correct accent and vocabulary to make it in Australia or South Africa. I am not allowed to pronounce the R or H. And I must use "Wanka" and "Toss Pot" while flipping my pointer and index finger in the air twice. And I can't say Johannesburg. It's Jo-Burg or Josie.

There were more rules, but I can't remember them. I am still recovering from all the fun.

Justin Wands, EchoSuite:

We had already had a bit to drink at the party and had a little more at the concert, but then afterwards they insisted on going to this bar called Niagra which they said was "the funnest time you'll ever have," so I went.

Not really sure what happened after that, haha. I mean, I wasn't a complete idiot, but looking back on the night I don't think I realized how drunk I was getting or how drunk I was. I think I was just going with the flow.

I think the tipping point was when Berry ordered vodka shots. They were big and strong. Totally shouldn't have taken it. Overall, I don't think I would've had that much to drink, but when you make new friends it's hard to turn down a good time.

Niagra was tons of fun though, we went to the back and got inside this tiny photobooth and took the funniest black and white pictures of us doing stupid faces and things. I was laughing so hard.

Here they are, but I still need to properly scan them:
I am not really sure how the night ended or if I even had a chance to really say bye, but somehow Berry and I got in a cab together and I got to my dorm. I remember staying up a little bit and being on my computer, but I am not sure what I was doing. And somehow I saw this video of this little girl and got stuck watching a bunch of her videos, wishing that I someday have a little girl just like her, complete with fluency in French and storytelling abilities. Sigh.

Then I tried to go to sleep, but I started spinning tons and I got up and had to throw up. I hadn't had dinner, so it was all the alcohol. It sucked, but afterwards I felt much better.

Then I went to sleep.

I woke up abruptly this morning and I was super hungover, kind of in a daze and unaware of where I was or what had happened the night before... even though last night there wasn't a time when I was too drunk to function. Good thing was that Arielle (my roomie) also went out and never came home, so I didn't wake her up or act like a complete fool at some ungodly hour, crack of dawn.

Then things started coming back to me and I was looking for my phone in my purse and I couldn't find it.

So I freaked out and emailed, blogged, twittered everyone to help me find it. I thought I had left it at the bar. Or worse--I feared I had left it in the taxi. I couldn't believe I would do that though because I had come home with everything else... even my umbrella... and I am NEVER so drunk that I missplace my phone. That thing is my life.

About 30 minutes later, I looked down and it was sitting right there, charging by my laptop. That's when I realized I was still drunk(ish) and needed food. So I ordered delivery -- a vegetarian omelette & orange juice -- and proceeded to find out what I had texted people or twitter throughout the night (you'd be surprised how many times I don't remember twittering out things... haha).

The funniest part was seeing that my last text of the night was at 12:30am. Not the crack of dawn as I had imagined.

Anyway, that's pretty much my night in a nutshell. Sorry for the Magna Carta. Right now I am just sort of laying in bed, recovering. Not wanting to think about work or homework I have to do.

Or how I should probably go for a run and get rid of the empty calories that are slowing down my efforts to lose 10 pounds.

cool, you were so close to JA that you got a photo of the back of her. ur almost a celebrity now.

but if u remember JAs instructions, its get photographed WITH the most famous people at the party, and i dont think she meant looking retarded in the background.

Haha, I know the girls pretty well... and I've already gotten photographed with "JA" plenty of times ;)

I'm there to have fun, not really TRY to be cool.

Rather, I just AM.

hahaha :P

For some reason, I pictured Julia Allison taller too. She's very cute and probably just as cool as you are.
